CHILVERS Return to "Bios" Email: rachilve@utmb.edu  Location: Galveston, TX  BIO: After graduating from Magnet, I went to Baylor University where I earned a BA in Biology, graduating in '99. I went to medical school in Shreveport, graduating in 2003, and I am now in Galveston, TX in residency training as an Ob/Gyn (now in year 3 of 4). I am presently in one of the research labs, working on a project studying premature ovarian failure. Congrats to all of you who are married and have children. That is a great blessing. I do enjoy the obsterics part of ob/gyn (especially the deliveries and surgery), but I think I am going to concentrate on reproductive endocrinology and help people with infertility (yes more years of training in a fellowship). On a personal note, I have been dating someone for 2 years who is very kind, understands the medical world, and who is Chinese, adding some additional variety to my life. I enjoy working with people of different races and cultures -- East Asian, Indian/Pakistani, African American, Mexican, Egyptian, etc., and there is definitely good representation of all those groups down here, along with their native cuisines: mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm -- sushi.
